Raw Material Quick Reference

Raw Material Sales Specifications

In order to comply with raw material sales, the following changes will be implemented in the quote, sales order, pick ticket and RMA.

  1. To enable this module, you need to mark “Stock Raw Material” inside Company/Div/Department setup in ‘Document Settings’.
  2. An additional asset type called ‘Raw Materials’ is now located under the general tab, be sure to select the button. Raw Material type is available only for Tracing Only Parts. This means if Part Number is serialized – Multi or Unique – the Raw Material option for asset type will be disabled.
  3. If the part is marked as “Raw Material”, then it will show a new tab called “Raw Material”. Measure fields, Weight UM and Length UM hiding from Measure Tab and moving them to Raw Material Tab.

 

Raw Material Part Fields

Raw Material Part has the following fields:

 

Shape:

Clicking on this will open shape list window from Administration menu (Fig 3) with 2 fields, ‘Shape’ and if the shape is a sheet/plate.

  1. If any of the above shapes are selected, and are not marked ‘Sheet/Plate’, open the following data entry fields
    1. Sales Qty Um. as default loading Stock Um field and user can change this value to any UM from Qty UM Conversion (Fig 4) of current Part Number. When loading Raw Material Part Number to sales document value of Qty Um loads from this field.

    2. Weight per [Inch]

    3. Length (of Part Number)

    4. Cut Width (scrap). After entering this value, the system calculates the lost weight automatically = Weight per [Inch] * Cut Width

    5. Charge Customer per each cut

    6. Charge Amount

  2. If Sheet/Plate is marked as Yes, then the following fields are shown (Fig 5).

    1. Sales Qty Um

    2. Thickness

    3. Density

    4. Length

    5. Width

    6. Cut Width (scrap). Loss weight per Inch calculates by: Cut Width * Thickness * Density

    7. Charge Customer

    8. Charge Amount

Sales Documents

In all sales documents and in phone order if the part is marked as Raw Material, then a new tab “Raw Materials” is added, and tab measure will be hidden.

  1. If it’s a non sheet/plate Part Number then the following fields are shown in the Raw Material tab
    1. Piece Length (user entry field)
    2. Number of Cuts: - System will show the same number as the number of pieces
    3. Cutting required (Default as No)
    4. Total line Weight (Calculated by the system: (Number of Cuts * Piece Length * Weight per Piece) + (number of cuts * Cut width * weight per piece) in case cutting required checked.
    5. Price Per LB (LB is loading from Stock) (user entry field)
    6. Cut Charge (Loading from Stock Charge Amount and if Charge customer for each Cut checked as user can change Cut Charge)
    7. Price Per piece (Calculated by system: Price per Unit + price per scrap (if Cutting required checked) + Cut Charge = Piece Length * Weight per Inch * Price per LB + Cut Width * Weight per Inch * Price per LB + Cut Charge.
    8. Charge by
      1. If Charge by Piece is checked then Price per piece will be filled in sell price and the user will be allowed to override the price and Qty Um will be copied to Price UM.
      2. If Charge by Weight is checked then sell price will be equal to Price per Piece / Weight per Piece, and Price Um will be equal to Weight UM.
  2. If the part is Sheet/Plate type the Raw Material tab shows the following fields:
    1. Piece Width (User entry field)
    2. Piece Length (user entry field)
    3. Cutting Required
    4. Number of Cuts
    5. Total Line Weight. Calculated by the system: Thickness * density * piece width * piece length * number of cuts + (piece width + piece length) * thickness * density * cut width.
    6. Price Per LB (user entry field)
    7. Cut Charge

    8. Price per piece = Price per Unit + Price per scrap + price of cutting.

      1. Price per unit = piece width*piece length*thickness*density * Price per LB.

      2. Price per scrap = (piece width + piece length) * thickness * density * cut width * price per LB.

      3. Price of cutting = (piece width + piece length) * Cut Charge.

    9. Cutting direction: Along Grain, Against Grain, or NA – 3 options to choose from.

 

Phone Order Information

When using Phone Order we add Raw Material data in an additional line data form.

Stock Info will show the Stock UM Conversions list from inventory

 

Additional Info

The System will prevent the creation of a W/O from Raw Material Type Part Number.

When voiding/deleting/cancelling pick tickets, the weight quantity in the warehouse should go back to the original quantity (put back the piece + the scrap).

In case of RMA, the parts should go back to inventory without the scrap weight.
