Task Server Setup

Purpose: To describe the steps for setting up a task server.

NOTE: ETS must be associated with a task server in order to operate properly. ETS may be run on any existing task server or you may create a new task server (link pending).

  1. Open the Pentagon 2000 Distributed Computing Setup window.
    1. From the main menu screen:
      1. Left-click the Admin button; the Administration Menu window will appear.
      2. Double-click System Setup; the selection will expand.
      3. Double-click Servers and Tasks Setup.
    2. From the ribbon:
      1. Left-click Administration.
      2. Left-click the System button.
      3. Left-click Servers and Tasks Setup.
    1. From the shortcut menu:
      1. Left-click Administration.
      2. Go to System.
      3. Left-click Servers and Tasks Setup.
  1. Left-click the line that corresponds to the task server on which ETS will be run and left-click the Refresh button on the Pentagon 2000 Distributed Computing Setup window toolbar.

    1. If the task server is running, the computer icon in the Active column will display with a green screen.
    2. If the server is not running, open the Utility Manager (link pending) to start the task server (link pending).
  2. Make record of the Server Address and Listening Port for the terminal setup.
