My Settings

My Settings

Purpose: To define the options which an individual user may modify to change their own user experience.

Access

These settings may be accessed utilizing multiple methods:

  1. From the ribbon:
    1. Left-click My Pentagon.
    2. Left-click the My Settings button; the My Settings window will appear.
  2. From the shortcut menu:
    1. Left-click My Pentagon.
    2. Left-click My Settings; the My Settings window will appear.

Header Group Box Field Definitions

  1. Do not pop up for document calculation flag - When the flag to the right of the label is checked , all document calculation will take place in the background.  If the flag is not checked, a window will appear showing the status of the document calculation; this will prevent any other work from being performed in Pentagon 2000 until the calculation is complete.
  2. Save/Restore Reports/Forms Parameters Values flag - When the flag to the right of the label is checked , the last parameters for forms and reports will be restored when the particular form or report is initiated again.
  3. Activate Document Line Tabs Indicators flag - When the flag to the right of the label is checked , the labels on tabs containing information will be changed to RED text.
  4. Set color indicator for parts not on file flag - (to be verified)
  5. User Log Enabled flag - When the flag to the right of the label is checked , the user log containing selected events for the particular user will be created and updated.

    NOTE: In general, this flag should be left unchecked. If enabled, the constant update to the user file will slow server performance.
  6. Keep Dashboard Settings flag - (to be verified)
  7. Language field - If the multi-language module [link] is licensed, the user may select the language in which the user interface is displayed.
  8. Show Translation Captions in Color flag and related Color field - When the flag to the right of the label is checked , any translated labels will appear in the color selected in the Color field.
  9. Default Call Type field - The user may select the default type associated with calls created by the user.
  10. Hint Pausing field - Enter the time (in milliseconds) that the system should delay pop-up hints when the mouse is hovered over elements within the user interface.
  11. Check Mail Every field - Enter the time (in minutes) that the system should wait between checking the database for new internal emails.
  12. Check Calls Every field - Enter the time (in minutes) that the system should wait between checking the database for new calls.
  13. SITA Refresh field - (to be verified)
  14. Check EQuotes Every field - (to be verified)
  15. Check ESale Orders Every field - (to be verified)
  16. Check EContact Us Every field - (to be verified)
  17. Refresh Open Time and Attendance / Labor screens every field - (to be verified)

General Preferences Tab

  1. Pop up report upon completion flag - When the flag to the left of the label is checked , reports will be displayed on the screen immediately after they are created.  If the flag is not checked, they must be opened from the task viewer [link].
  2. Fully Embed True Type Fonts on Created PDF Files (Larger File Size) flag - When the flag to the left of the label is checked , any true type fonts used in Pentagon 2000 will appear in .pdf documents generated by the system.

    NOTE: This will result in a larger .pdf file size.
  3. TrimPunct History Search flag - (to be verified)
  4. Show Parts Assembly List Indicator in Document Lines flag - When the flag to the left of the label is checked , an additional column will appear on the Lines tab with the header label of Assembly and a check box on each line. The flag in the Assembly column will be marked as checked if an assembly list (link pending) has been set up for the line.
  5. Export Reports to Excel/CSV in Single Line Format flag- (to be verified)
  6. Do not prompt line adding notification (Sales Order/Purchase Order) flag - (to be verified)
  7. Do not prompt line changes notification (Sales Order/Purchase Order) flag - (to be verified)
  8. Load image upon double click flag - (to be verified)
  9. Show vertical scroll bar in search window flag - When the flag to the left of the label is checked , a vertical scroll bar will appear in all search windows [link].
  10. Update CRM Call Tracking into Outlook flag - (to be verified)
  11. Update CRM Scheduler into Outlook flag - (to be verified)
  12. Enable Advance Secured Printing settings (.NET) flag - (to be verified)
  13. Update online PPN stock values flag - When the flag to the left of the label is checked , PPN stock values will be updated automatically each time a part master records is viewed.

    NOTE: User must be subscribed to PPN (link pending) and credentials entered to utilize this functionality.

    NOTE: If enabled, the constant update will slow server performance.
  14. Update online SOS stock values flag - When the flag to the left of the label is checked , SOS stock values will be updated automatically each time a part master records is viewed.

    NOTE: User must be subscribed to SOS (link pending) and credentials entered to utilize this functionality.

    NOTE: If enabled, the constant update will slow server performance.
  15. Enable Stock multi screen opening flag - When the flag to the left of the label is checked , the system will allow multiple part master windows to be open concurrently.
  16. Do not prompt line adding notification (Quote/RFQ) flag - (to be verified)
  17. Do not prompt line changes notification (Quote/RFQ) flag - (to be verified)
  18. Enable external scanning (.NET) flag - (to be verified)
  19. Enable Twain 1.0 compatibility flag - (to be verified)
